Certificate of Registration

A Certificate of Registration is an official document that records the nationality, registration mark, and ownership details of an aircraft. Before an Australian aircraft may fly, the pilot in command (PIC) must ensure it is properly registered under CASR Part 47, and the Certificate of Registration must be carried on board the aircraft during all flight operations.

Key Points

  • •Serves as legal proof of the aircraft's registration.
  • •Registration marks must match the markings painted on or affixed to the aircraft.
  • •Required to be carried on board for international flights.
