Flight Data Recorder

A flight data recorder (FDR) is a device mandated on certain aircraft, typically turbine-powered aircraft over 5,700 kg, that continuously records aircraft performance and flight parameters. It must operate continuously from the time the aircraft first begins moving under its own power until the flight terminates.
